There is a lot of information out there about the risks and side effects of sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra.
While sildenafil is often prescribed to men who suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED), its role in treating other conditions like pulmonary hypertension and diabetes is not well-known.
Some of the side effects of sildenafil are:
But what can you do if you experience these symptoms while you’re taking sildenafil? You may want to contact a doctor or speak with a healthcare professional. They’ll assess your condition and decide if you need a medical evaluation or if sildenafil may be causing your symptoms. If you’re prescribed sildenafil to treat erectile dysfunction, you’ll need to take special precautions. The drug may not work as well if you take it with high blood pressure or a history of heart attacks. You might need to take special precautions in order to minimize the risk of dizziness and fainting.
For some men who have erectile dysfunction, sildenafil may cause side effects. However, it can be a sign of other health conditions that might interact with sildenafil and may make it more likely to cause these symptoms.
If you have taken sildenafil or any other drug with nitrates (such as nitroglycerin or isosorbide dinitrate), your doctor will evaluate your blood pressure and adjust the dose of sildenafil. The dose of sildenafil depends on factors such as age, the severity of the disease, your sex life, and other medications. Some studies have suggested that low blood pressure may be a risk factor for sildenafil. In other words, if you have high blood pressure and you take sildenafil, your doctor will consider whether your risk is related to sildenafil.
Taking more than the prescribed dosage can be dangerous. Taking too much of a medicine can cause adverse reactions in the body. It’s crucial to follow the prescribed dosages and not exceed them. This could increase the risk of side effects and make it less effective.
If you experience side effects while taking sildenafil, talk to your doctor. They may want to prescribe you another medicine with a different side effect profile.
